Compensation for damage caused by rioters

Compensation for damage caused by rioters

£230 million in aid has been pledged to those effected by the damage caused by rioters. £200 million will come from the taxpayer in the form of insurance compensation. Councils will be allocated a £10 million recovery fund to clear up the streets and make the necessary repairs.

£20 million will go towards subsidising lower business rates for those hit and help pay for repairs. The government will underwrite the costs of the riots.
